What would cause power steering fluid to blow out of fluid holder?

Air being drawn into system would result in symptoms described. The fluids would seem to have a lot of bubbles(foaming) when it occurs. Check the hose and connections from reservoir to the pump. If no signs of leakages, the problem lies with the pump.
