Hello and thank you for your time.
I would like to transfer a v6 engine into my crv. I'm just not quite sure what model of what vehicles engine would fit into my truck. I know a 2012 honda crosstour and a 2013 acura rdx are similar to the crv. Would those be possible. If any other model would fit please feel free. I just started searching up on engines alike. Also another question. Would the transmission need to be replaced with the engine?
Thank you very much for your time.

First thing is why would you like to have a V6 eningine?
For your year model, there are not many honda V6 engines and this being Civic platform, you would not get any because the only V6 engines are from the Accord series. Extensive modification to the engine mounts would be required.

Replacing the engine would need the transmission to be replaces as well.

First is that the original transmission is not going to take the extra power and would give way soon.

Second thing is that the transmission is not going to match the V6 engine.

I'd like a v6 in my truck to provide more power. With the four cylinder engine it does have, when you're going higher speeds it takes forever for it switch gears. I also wish to change out the engine for off road use and for personal use. I think a four cylinder isn't good enough for this truck.

It sucks that honda never made a v6 for the crv. It would make the job a lot easier instead of trying to find the correct engine size of a different car to fit my truck. Would it be possible to transfer an accord v6 into the crv? If it would be complicated would a different car model similar to the crv be better?
Thank you for your time.

CRV stands for comfortable runabout vehicle and is not meant for extreme conditions. It can accomodate the Accord engine but as I mentioned before, it requires extensive modifications to the engine mounts. However you need to bear in mind that if you can accomplish that, you are not going to fly or soar like a bird. The accord engine is not really a high powered engine, only better torque.
