98 Ford Taurus duratec ohc - After 3500 rpms acts like a rev limiter and also will not go into overdrive. Car will not go over 65 mph and tac is at 3500. At lower speeds will stall.
Check engine light does come on. Scanning says TPS. Have replaced TPS and ETC sensor.

Other stored codes P1703, P1464, P1650, P1780 and P1260. TPS codes were P1120 and P1125.

P1703 is brake switch out of test range. Meaning the brake wasnt hit during the self test.

1780 is trans control switch out of test range. Thats because od wasnt cycled on and off during the test.

P1464 is because you had the air conditioner on during the self test.

P1650 is because the steering wheel wasnt turned during the self test.

1120 is for the etc sensor.

Is your vehicle in fact equipped with electronic throttle or does it have a throttle cable?

The vehicle has a throttle cable. Transmission range sensor connector with ignition on 5.06, not 10+. Will not crank with ignition unplugged. Back probed.09. Driving put in N, RPMs stay up. When at 65 mph, 3500 rpms is constant, shift to 2nd and rpms go down, then way up. Should we go to a transmission shop or do you think it's a sensor or wiring? Any suggestions following back from trans range sensor? Also, back pressure sensor reference voltage and signal volt way off. The back sensor problems, due to the wiring or do other sensors cause the problems?
