After they put everything back together, the car wouldn't start. I had to jiggle the ignition switch back and forth numerous times and then the doors would lock and the car would start. The mechanic said that it would cost another hour of labor to disconnect it again-not his fault as he didn't know. Anyway - I've been living with this for a week or so cause I can't afford another hour
but all of a sudden, my door and trunk opener would not work. I changed the battery but didn't work either. BTW the mechanic said he would look at it and if he could disonnect something in a few minutes to make it back to normal (alarm not working) he would do it at no charge. I think he pulled the chip out and it started right up before I left. It still will start up right away if I don't lock the door. This appears to be a chain reaction or something. Very irritating -
question is - do I have to take something computerized to the dealer or can this be fixed by a "regular" mechanic without the dealership exorbitant charges? Appreciate any feedback!
