I replaced bad thermostat and it got way to hot according to gauge so I figured I got bad part.
went got another part and installed. Now it goes to 220* before it opens and cools to 195* and fluctuates all the time between them #`s, the faster I go the hotter it gets, the slower I go the cooler it gets. Is this another bad part or is there something else wrong. It dosnt overheat but 220* seems to hot. It does run well at that temp but you can smell hot hoses.

Hello,

Take a look at the Fan Clutch it may be bad. To check - with vehicle cold spin the fan pay attention to how it spins. Then start vehicle an warm to Operating Temp. Turn vehicle off - Being care not to burn yourself once again spin the fan, does it spin the same as when cold? Or is it feel tight. If feels same as when cold Replace it. The fan is not spinning fast enough to cool engine at higher speeds.
