My car was parked and the speedo stoped working I had to use the release to get the car in gear and it lacked power the next day the batt was dead I thought it was the alternator I changed it but it was the same. I had the old one tested and it was good but the car is still not charging and I cant shift out of park. Is it posible its the speed sensor?

The speed sensor won't kill the battery or cause the park lock solenoid to stick. Make sure the brake lights are working properly. Power from the switch is sent to the park lock to release. As far as the battery issue, use a volt meter. Check the battery with engine off. You should see around 12v. Start the engine and it should be around 14v. If the voltage doesn't change and the alt is good, check the fuseable link between the battery and alt. If it is bad, the battery can't get power from the alt.
