1997 VW Golf K2 4 cylinder mileage: 127,000. Something is wrong with my alarm system. It is activated all the time now and I cannot lock from the inside using the toggle button on the dashboard. Is there something that I can do to deactivate this alarm system or do I need to bring it into the dealer/repair shop?

The alarm system is an integral part of your car and cannot be deactivated. A dealer or an independent service center should be able to fix your problem.
