Key stuck in ignition

My key will not turn far enough to the locked position on my ignition so i cannot take the key out. it will start the car but i cannot get the key to come out. Is there a way to get the key out without buying a new ignition? It seems to be in the park position fine.

It could be the interlock cable needs to be replaced or adjusted or the ignition tumbler will need to be replaced. If the ignition switch seems jammed then I would think tumbler. Here is a guide and diagrams to help you see whats going on:
