Hi, I own a 1997 Nissan Cefiro with an A32 engine installed. I've notice something on my odometer, sometime at start up or even when i'm driving it suddenly shoots up to a high of 4000rpm but I don't feel the engine roaring at that rate, its like a normal 850 to 1000 rpm. Then suddenly it drops down to its normal reading. Is there an electrical shortage? Or what could you advise that I need to do. Thanks, Sonny

Do you have a check engine light if so scanned the computer for codes-start here

I don't have the references to this vehicle-might want to clean the throttle body and also check the throttle position sensor, fast idle control device and also the IACV-AAC valve

Check for shorts and check for weak body grounds.
