bucks sometimes frequently, sometimes intermittently. sometimes smaller bucks. sometimes big bucks and have to pull over. tachometer also bounces up and down with these bucks. sometimes if car's been going along on highway. sometimes if just start it up. there were mouse nests in there recently but 2 mechanics don't think it has anything to do with it. have gotten tune-up and changed all filters and wires and plugs as well as changed cracked oil gasket. one mechanic tried new coils and this didn't seem to help.

I will write these suggestions down and pass them on to someone else I get as a mechanic to look at it. I'm thinking my only option is to take it to a hyundai service department. Any other suggestions you might have on what it could be will be more than helpful to pass on to them in case they can't figure it out either.

and not to forget the mice may have done some hidden damage to wiring or ducting or other. a small hole, a bare wire, etc.
