My car is running fine, except for one thing that really ****es me off. Its transmission doesn't shift to the last gear when the weather is cold, I would say when it's 60F or less. I can't drive more 60 mph If I do, I'll hear the engine noise going very loud, but when the weather is hot it perfectly runs like a new car. I had thought that the problem was from the transmission, so I decided to change it. As matter of fact I did change it and it had been driven driven only 75,000 miles. But unfortunately the problem is still the same. I've had this car for about 2 years and half now and every winter I this problem comes out. Last winter I spent more than 900 dollars to get it fixed, but I probably was unlucky.

Please, this the 1st time I write online asking about my car's problem. Please let me know your suggestions, advice and what you probably recommend me to do. Your help will be really appreciate it.

Thank you very much!

I feel that there is not a lot that you can do apart from having a scan done just to eleminate any electrical issues, I would be expecting to see it improve when the trans reaches normal operating temp, also is the correct oil being used this can affect operation of valves, do the scan and let me know what you find.

Thanks,

I've done the scan using couple of times using the OBDII, and showed me the only problem was the catalyst/ oxygen sensor. I did change the oxygen sensor last year and It got burned out about a month later. The problem is still the same. Regarding the transmission fluid was the original one bec I had bought from the a Honda dealer. What do you think the problem could be? I'll probably stop by a mechanic tomorrow to do another scan because. Then, I'll let you know.

Thanks again!

Hi there,

I did the scan today. The problem that came up on the scanner was Catalyst Converter only. DO you have any idea?

Thank you!

How long does it take the vehicle to shift into the last gear. Cold mornings vehicle is designed not to shift eight away into final gear to allow transmission to warm up and for engine to pollute less
