Still having bucking in overdrive

I replaced plugs, wires and coils and it runs smooth except when overdrive is on, it has plenty of power and shifts great with no slipping, transmission fluid is very clean and it has a new filter.
when it goes into overdrive the tach is jumping between 1500 and 2000
ad the car******/bucks, does not feel like a misfire at all.
if I give I a little gas it comes out of overdrive ad goes smooth until it engages again,
is there a way to disable the overdrive without causing a check engine light?
i tried unplugging the solenoid from the transmission and the light goes on and there is no power like it is dragging in a high gear.
there must be a single wire I can cut to shut it off.

Have a trans guy check this, you may have a converter clutch going out

Had trans serviced twice to get clean fluid.
There was a lot of sludge that was removed.
I was hoping there was a way to disable just the overdrive
the other 4 gears are strong, no slippage at all

One last thing, if it is fine for about the 1st half hour of driving could that still be the clutch, if that clutch fails does it disable the car or is that just for overdrive?

Thank you for your help

Yes it can do that but other things in the trans can do that as well. By your own admision there was sludge in tehpan and that is not a good sign. When it fails you'll lose overdrive and clutch lockup in other gears when it should so your fuel mileage will drop
