I'm living in Malaysia where the temperature here is high all year round. Alfas runs hot here with all the traffic jams. Therefore, I have re-route the engine breather hose where now it does not runs back into the air intake. I have run a hose out so that the hot air from the engine goes out under the engine bay. It cools down the running temperature of the engine. This was done years ago. However, since end of last month, I have been leaking oil through the breather hose. Lots of oil. It has never been like this before. Yes, oil do run up the breather but its quantity was insignificant. Now the leak is a lot. I need to top up the engine oil every few days. What can be the cause of this?

We dont' have any info on this car but check your pcv valve and breathers for clogging on your valve cover if you have any. It could be excessive blowby as well due to age of engine but try the pcv first it could also be clogged as well. By the way removing the hose isn't your problem with overheating, pressure check coolant system for internal leaks and check radiator for cold spots if you feel cold then the rad isn't cooling. Also if you have a "bug shields in front of condenser that stops 15%of the air cooling your car.
