Hi, my saab 900s idles ok when in park or neutral, soon as I put it in drive or reverse the engine struggles and the whole car shakes, also when setting off I get a loud clunk from the engine, like the engine moves, could this be the engine mounts? And if so how could I check them and where are they located? Thanks

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

There are 4 mounts that could be worn or broken. I suggest letting someone familiar with your car to inspect the mounts for you to confirm.

Is the check engine light on?
