1996 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 110k miles
my car's front passenger side brakes keep sticking (they don't release after engages) at times and many mechanic's told me that it was the caliper. I replaced the caliper with a brand new one, but the problem persists. The brakes get so hot to the point of burning (not to mention they wear extremely fast). This only happens with the front passenger side (its the only wheel that gets hot) After I turn off the car, I can hear the car's brakes groaning as if trying to release. Two different mechanics so far have told me it might be the ABS module that is malfunctioning and not releasing the hydraulic pressure. If that is the case, is it something I can fix myself (I even ordered a replacement) or do I have to get it professionally installed? If so how much would that cost me as I cannot keep changing both the brake discs and the actual brakes.
