How do I repair the rear passeger door latch on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee? The door can't close, because the metal round plate/hook isn't set the right way

Can you Takey your fingers--and push/pull the "Latches" into correct position while holding the Handle in the "OPEN" Position. Or use a dowel or something if you are SKEEEEERRRRD!

Respond with good news--No Bah-Humbugs!

Sorry, just re-thought your question

Can you SEE evidence of the plate having changed position? (The part on the Frame of the door) Like a scuff in the paint. Etc?

Many of these are adjustable, some require a "TORX" bit others are different.I adjusted my Dads Truck using "Vise Grips" to slightly unscrew the Catch, then I slid it over, and tightened it down

Is this more in line with your question?

Once more---They do not have "EDIT" here yet. The site was totally revamped and I am lost without "EDIT"

I meant the Part--ON THE BODY--That the door latch grabs onto

Please forgive me, got a lot on my plate here recently
