Apologies for length:
During last 6 months have been key priming pump for first cold start each day (suspect check valve).
During last 2 months key prime has changed..now, if CEL/GEN lights come on with key in "on" position, fuel pump primes for 3 seconds and starts right up after 3 key cycles. If CEL/GEN lights do not come on when key turned to "on" position fuel pump runs continuously but will not start. In this situation the key is cycled to "on" from 3-20 times until lights come on after which 3 more key primes are conducted and it starts right up. Increasingly, when the lights do come on after cycling the key they flicker rapidly for 3 seconds. The interval of flickers begins rapidly and slows down over course of 3 seconds (the impression right or wrong is as if the prime of the pump corresponds to the flicker? but can't tell because ignition buzzer is running at same time).Fuel pressure at rail is good in both cases (continuous running or 3 second run) however is non-existent at schrader valve after sitting all night.
There are no other running issues (stalling, idle, power, backfire, shifting etc). Subsequent starts (hot starts) are either immediate or require 3 key primes with pump running for 3 seconds each time. Only other electrical issue is cruise control does not work all the time.
This issue seems worse after rain or high humidity.
So far I have only checked battery connections/voltage and freshened grounds yesterday (7/23/15). This "seemed" to reduce time needed to start.
I have not checked for spark either at coil or plugs when lights are not lit but will do so soon and anticipate that I will not find spark until CEL/GEN lights are on.
In last 3 months plugs/wires/cap/rotor were replaced with NAPA items. 02 sensor also replaced during this time.
Thank you for considering
