Hairline cracked in headgasket needs repair

I don't know where you got that info from because you have disassembled it and head gaskets don't crack. The head warps and breaks the seal. The head often cracks also. That pretty much means it's dead in the water until the engine is torn down and the head sent out to the machine shop for testing.
