When I first start my truck without messing with it for a good period of time it will start. But if I was to go somewhere right after it will start then turn off. It will stay on if I keep my foot on the gas pedal for awhile

Does it run good after it gets warm? Have you checked fuel pump pressure when it is cold?

Yeah it runs good after it gets warm. No I haven't I don't know much about cars/trucks. My dad put in some fuel injection and it ran good for a couple of days without having that problem but it came back and feels like it is getting worse

That is what I would start with. Seeing if the fuel pump pressure is within spec when it is cold. If you need directions, visit our homepage under the DIY section. A video and directions is available for checking this. The only thing you will need is a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent that to you.

Check that and let me know what you find.
