Dear Pontiac!

I live in Budapest, Hungary. My wife has a loved Pontic Grand Prix GPT 3, 4l engine, year 1995. We have a problem with the car since December, that could not be solved by our mechanicer. Whe the temperature is below 0 Celsius (about 30 Fahrenheit) and the car is parking outside overnight, the following occurs: the engine jumps immediatelly, but there is no iddle at all. The RPM goes up to 3500 or higher without touchung the accelerator pedal, then falls to 500 and the engine stops. And this is the situation 2-3 minutes long, until the engine is warming up a little. Than we can drive, but the iddle is low and not even, as not all the six cylinders would work. After driving 800-900 meters evrything is fine. The problem does not come until the next morning, even if the car is parked for long time outside in low temperature during the day. We have changed the air flow sensor, but it did not solve the problem. Do you have any idea how to go on?
Please, help me, because there is no authorized service station for Pontiac. I have american cars for 10years, but all the problems could be solved by my mechanicer (who repairs american cars only), except this.
Thanks and best regards:

I would get the mechanic to run a diagnostic scan, can he do this? And I would look at the idle control motor and the coolant temp sender, this is not the engine temp gauge sender.

He cannot perform a diagnostic test, there is no availability of such a computer test in Hungary for Pontiac. Thanks, we try to check the suggested things.
