I don't know an easy way to remove. Try rotating the sensor as you pull out on it. On some makes and models, I have tried using a screwdriver to pry up on the flange. Usually the flange is so brittle it just breaks off. I have also tried the screwdriver in the electrical cavity for the connector, pull out. Just some suggestions.
I have heard horror stories about having to remove oil pan, and trying to take sensor out from inside.
