Car shutting off

1995 Nissan maxima 6.0 cyl and wanted to know why car is shutting off when trying to drive. Ive already put a new alternator in the car could it be the battery if previous owner did not use a new one to replace the old one.

When vehicle is shutting off and if you can restart, it is not the fault of the battery or alternator.

What is the idling speed?
Is it easy to restart?
Are there any indicators showing on dash?
