How do I change out the thermistat . Where is it?

If you follow the upper radiator hose to engine, the connection at the end is the thermostat housing. Removing the housing bolts would allow you to gain access to the thermostat. Note the thermostat position before removing and reinstall accordingly.
A partial drain of the cooant would be recommended and work only on a cold engine.
