I have had this bus for 5 years with minimal problems. About a
Month ago it started to putter and backfire. I have replaced the cap and rotor, the distributor, the TPS, drained the gas tank, replaced the plugs and wires and plugged in a new "brain board" which didn't solve the problem, what on earth am I not looking at?

Have you checked the catalytic converter to see if it is plugged? Have you checked for major vacuum leaks? Is the fuel pump pressure within the manufacturer's specs? Have you checked engine compression for a possible burnt valve? Has the check engine light come on?

Thanks for the quick response. I have had the Catalytic Converter checked, it was fine, most of the hoses have been replaced, I haven't checked the fuel pump pressure and I did not check a burnt valve. Would it smoke if it had a burnt valve?

No, a burnt valve will just produce a loss of compression. It could cause a back fire as well.
