Easiest way is to find a "Chassis Ear". That is a set of six microphones, a switch box, and headphones. You clip the microphones to suspect points, then listen while driving and switching between them. Many auto parts stores borrow or rent tools; they might have one of these. Be aware that many mechanics have never heard of this tool. You can buy them from the guys who drive the tool trucks to the repair shops.
