I bought new fobs for my car I tried to program them using them instructions in the manual and no luck. Turn key to position one five times point key to the transmitter hold, down button one while pressing button three tree times and nothing happened what's could be the problem

Are these replacement factory fobs? I have a 91 535 and I was told this body style 5 series 1988-95 didn't have keyless entry. So your car may not be compatible with a factory OR an aftermarket keyless system. Bmw service or parts should be able to tell you if your car is compatible by the VIN
