I have a 1994 ford tempo 6cylinder. It recently had the "service engine soon " light pop on and I cant determine what it is. The car has burnt about 4 quarts in roughly 4000miles. I changed, Plugs, wires, pcv, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter. And its running fine. Im trying to figure out why else it would be burning the oil. As well as the effing light

You need to get a diagnostic scan done to extract the fault codes, get this done and report the faults here for further assistance.

You can get your code scanning done at many popular auto parts stores. For Free!

Return w/ #s and mhpautos, might can, make sense out of what they mean, and then give a diagnoses, and what to check or tackle 1st.

Actually a quart for as thousand aint bad for an old car with high miles. Yours could be 166 or even 266? You could try a heavier oil like 10/40 or even 20/50 as this engine dont have the tolerances of the new stuff. But maybe you arn't burning it at all but leaking it! Or a combination of the 2. How do the plugs look?
