If it's just a sloppy shifter, look under the dash to see if the screws need to be tightened, there are 2 brass colored star screws.I had a sloppy shifter, and was told I needed to replace the steering wheel colum.I never did, and the shifter kept getting worse, like would, nt stay in park, did not know if I was in drive or 1st or 2nd, than one day a small brass bolt fell and hit my foot, when I put it in gear.I found where it came out and saw that the other one was really loose too, tightened them both down, and now shifter works like brand new, in my research on how to fix this, this is a very common problem with Aerostars. But knowbody told me about even looking for, and tighting those bolts down. You will need a star drive for you socket set, don't remember what size though.
