My 94 dodge caravan ran hot today what will cause this

Dozens of possibilities. Thermostat stuck closed. Radiator fan not turning on. Leaking head gasket. Low coolant level. Blown hose.

Can you provide a few details? Did it occur at highway speeds or stop and go city driving? Did you hear the radiator fan turn on? Is it losing coolant? If so, from which area?
