Transaxle problem:Car starting to not shifting correctly. Doesnt want to shift into higher gear when starting out in drive. Car shifting out of drive when driving, then going back into gear. Speedometer (digital display dash) starts going crazy (malifunction). Yes I have had the trans serviced about 1000 mi ago. Yes I checked for leaks, fluid level, shift linkage. Car shifts perfect until recently. This erractic shifting started a few months ago and is getting worse each time I drive car Service engine soon warning light came on last time I drove. I'm thinking PCM software problem? My last problem "Check oil level" warning light I traced back to a timing issue with Pcm software.(Alldatapro. Com/alldata/pro~v384934671~c21307~ro~od~n/o/41746505/4242009 I talked with HMAC300 last time (july 2014). Whats going on this car is/was the best shifting car I've ever driven until this problem popped up. Car seems to shift perfect when cold but I think its only a question of time before even that quits happening.I'm getting nervous about driving the car at all. I'm only person driving this car. Never abused this car, fluid is fresh and clean, good color, no burnt order, etc. Thanks Louwelds

Have you scanned for codes? I know the trans only has 50,000 miles on it but the seals inside the trans get old and bypass fluid pressure which hold s the trans in gear, with that being said, the shift solenoids could be getting weak causing all kinds of weird problems. Usually the computer will pick up on this and through a code, but not always. Try removing the pan and check the connection and resistance of each solenoid to see if there are large discrepancies in readouts.

The resistance at room temperature should be 20-30 ohms (Mitchell1)

Thanks for the donation, let me know what happens.

Hi Ken, I was hoping u might have come across a similar/ more common problem thats specific to the 4t80-e transmission. I'm going to dig a little more and try to find out how these things work. I'm going to take it to a repair shop to see if they can come up with a fault code. ($100 bucks). They say their scan tool can read these pre 1995 pcm's. I'll let u know if its an easy fix.(Ha ha). No need to reply, thanks Ken.
Louwelds ( P.S. I've been working in the metal fab shops for 30 yrs. Thats how I came up with that stupid name !
