If it is air in the cooling system, you can disconnect the hose that leads from the t-stat housing over toward the heater core, and pour fluid in it. It is the one with a 90 degree bend and has a larger size on the t-stat housing side. It sits in a plastic saddle above the rear valve cover. The object is, to try and get coolant behind the thermostat so it can heat and open up. Usually if air is a concern, you may see some overheating as well. Eventually, it should be expelled on its own. The other possibility is a clogged heater core.
