You most probably have an exhaust leak. Take the car to an exhaust shop and have them give you an estimate for repair. Depending on the extent of the damage it may cost near $1000 for an exhaust manifold to the exit replacement. This probably won't include the price of the cataytic converter(s) which may need to be replaced, and you should do this if they show any damage with the mileage of the vehicle, if you are going to fix it do not cut corners on things like the converters as they will fail soon and you will pay more to replace them than if you replace them now while you are replacing exhaust. You can also check into buying a pre-made exhaust form an auto parts tore and having it installed. They will be close in prioe but often times if the pre-made system comes with cataytic converters it is the best way to go.
You may notice an increase in fuel consumption as leaks in the exhaust near an oxygen sensor will cause the computer to put more gas into the engine as it thinks it is running lean.
