1993 Ford Ranger transfer case shift moter

"i have a '93'ranger xlt 4x4.I'm working on my 4x4 transfercase shift motor.I removed the cover but can't I cant get the big gear to come out. Is there a certain way to remove it or do I need some kind of tool?Thanks. Any ideas?

Shift motor comes out like pic otherwise the t case has to come apart. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
