I have a 93 dodge d150, its been running great for 7yrs, just did a tune up on it and about 2 weeks later it will not idle on its own, when you stomp on it, it cuts out and then will take off. When it is tryin to idle on its own, the voltage gauge is on about 8-10amps. It starts up but just runs really rough and wont stay running. What could it be. The check engine light has been on ever since it has started doing this, ive tried to self dia. The light but it will not throw a code pattern out. No one around me has a scanner to scan it either. Any ideas on where to start?

Voltage isn't in amps. Either the voltage gauge is showing 8-10Volts (exceedingly low and problematic, pointing to a possible bad alternator) or it's a charge meter indicating current, 8-10 Amps.

Check plugs and wires. Check for vacuum leaks. Check compression. Make sure the fuel pressure is within limits. Check the fuel filter.
