Hi on my 1993 Chevy Silverado I had a code. It was code 22 which is the throttle position sensor. I replaced that. The problem I was having was the truck would act like it was shutting off but it didn't. When I hit the gas pedal it would not raise the rpms almost like it wasn't getting gas. When I put the part in today it was running a lot better. But the code is still their. The book says check the tps check the Ecm connector then it says replace the tps. I did not check the ecm connector. Is there a way to get this code out of the system.

First if you didn't clear computer after part replacement the code will still be there so pull ecm fuse for 30 seconds with key on. Try that first if it 's still on. Code 22 mean the circuit is grounded so check for a wire rubbing against block.

Ok I ran it yesterday it did great on the interstate. When I got off and reduced to lower speeds it was hesitating. When I hit the gas a little to get into another lane the rpms would not raise. Almost like a fuel problem. I have no codes. It use to dye before I put the new throttle position sensor on. It doesn't do that now. It just hesitates.

Hey I did that no change I took it out today this time it died on me again. I put it in neutral and restarted it. It fired off and died again. Did it 2 more same problem. Both times. I let it sit a minute fired it up again it ran fine. Drove 5 more minutes cut out on me again. Restarted it 3 times died 3 times. Let it sit 2 minutes fired off and I got it home. I have it parked because I am afraid of driving it. I am suspicious of the fuel pump now. When it happens you smell a burning smell like something is burning plastic. My gas gauge doesn't work either. I just had this pump replaced 6 months ago. I don't have the special fitting to check the fuel pressure since this truck doesn't have a port to test at. I am going to take it to my buddy at his shop Monday and see what he thinks. What is your opinion. Could it be the fuel pump or something else. Thanks for all the help.

The gas gauge went out about 2 months ago and the people that did the pump swears it is the cluster that's bad.

If there is no blinking light using a test light at gauge then it's the cluster which are digital and very well could be. It does sound like maybe a fuel problem with your truck or maybe contacts at injectors not making good contact

Ok so I had my buddy help me out he is a mechanic. He cleaned the grounds that did not solve it. We replaced the distributor cap and rotor. The cap was corroded. That didn't make a difference either. We put a new fuel pump relay on. That did not work. The injectors in the throttle body was not spraying like it should. We put a new throttle body on ran great. It turned out that didn't work. He said he has never seen a truck do this before. It only stalls while you drive it and it gets warm. It won't do it just sitting in park. Any suggestions. I was thinking the fuel pump or Ecm but I don't know. The fuel pump was replaced in March. Thanks.
