I know that the relay is located on the firewall behind the right shock tower, but, which one is it? There are four relays on the bracket & I had someone turn key on while I felt for one to click. Well, 2 of the damn things clicked, so now I'm confused as to which is the correct one. I've looked online, Haynes manual, & neither is definitive as to which one of the four is the correct one. Since I at least have it narrowed down to two possibilities,I guess I could just use process of elimination, but if you can tell me exactly which one,it would be very appreciated! Thanks,SEABEE

The fuel pump relay has a dark green wire with a white stripe a black wire with a white stripe A gray wire and a pink wire. That should help you find the relay.

Well, not exactly sure! The car wouldnt start the other day for my girlfriend & when I tried it, it fired right up! I shut it off, tried it again,& it started again! I thought it was the FUEL PUMP, but after confirring with a friend thats a mechanic, he said its most likely the RELAY! So I took the fuelpump back & bought a RELAY! I guess if there is a break in the circuit somewhere,it will rear its ugly head again, but I'm keeping my fingures crossed that it was the RELAY!

I haven't seen a lot of those relays fail most of the time its a bad connection bad ground etc.If it was the fuel pump not turning on?Usuallyfuel pumps whnwhen they fail don't usually work off and on.What I have seen and done is if you loose fuel pressure and you have a crank no start. While cranking I would smack the center of the gas tank with the palm of my hand.To get the pump working again sometimes works sometimes doesn't.I use that trick to find a bad pump. Before trying make sure it doesn't start and you have no fuel pressure. Then try it.
