1993 chevy beretta

I have a 1993 Chevy Beretta 2.2L and just started having this problem my car when I start it the RPM'S are at 4000 and they won't go down so i was wondering if maybe the MAP sensor may have when out and what else could I check before I spend $50. to make sure?

I would see what codes you have in the computer also check for a vacuum leak and a stuck idle air control motor or wiring issue to it.I would start with the codes could lead you straight to the problem.
