i have a 1992 pontiac bonneville 3.8 non super charged.. it runs good at an idle but when i go to press down the gas to acclereate it has a small back fire with spitting and aputterinig but when im at speed it runs fine.. need help please

Check the fuel pressure if okay -test the throttle position sensor and manifold absolute pressure sensor

Hello,

When was your last tune up, plugs, cap and Rotor? If has been a while that is were I would start. Also if the wires are original then I would replace them or if they show signs of cracking or dried out.
