The gas gauge on my 1992 ford explorer quit working along with the dome light. The previous owner had wired the radio in so when the radio first comes on the dome light flickers? Is it possibly related to gas gauge or do I need to pull the tank to fix it? I've checked the fuses in the cab. Do you have any free ideas to fix the gas gauge?

The two electrical circuits are seperate. As far as the fuel gauge, chances are the rheostat is bad or there is a wiring issue to it. The bad part is the float for the gauge is in the tank and part of the fuel pump. You will need to check it for output and make sure power is to it.
