The battery cable on the positive side was cracked and replaced. The car cranked/started right away after a new one was installed and properly connected. As soon as the foot was removed from the accelorator it cut off and would not crank. Battery is fully charged, started connected and working and alternator is working and all lights, radio & heater function properly. What else could cause the car not to crank?

If it worked when it was first fixed, I think the problem may be in the positive cable. Check the cable for continunity. Make sure there is a good connection at the starter too.
