1992 Chevrolet Blazer swapping starters

GM is famous for making many variations of their parts to insure little interchanges from one model or year to another. They sell more parts that way. We often joke that we need to supply the body paint color to get the right PCV valve! In this case, however, I looked up the starters for both vehicles and they look similar. The part numbers are different but you can't go by that either. Minor and insignificant changes warrant a new part number even though the parts fit the same applications.
