Check that the shifter interlock solenoid is getting power, it gets it power from the brake light switch, it may just need adjusting.

Thank you so much. I've just replaced timing belt, water pump, crank seal, battery, plugs and wires. It's been a good dependable car till lately. Just can't afford any more big expense. Could you tell me where that shifter soleniod is located?

The call out fee would be a little excessive, lol. Good luck with it.

I could pick you up at the airport. Just being funny. Wondering, since it's intermittent, can I just do the release thing? Or i'm I going to get stranded. I'm just a girl, worked for pep boys, napa, and advance auto. Kinda have some car part knowledge, most mechanics have never heard of a cressida or scared to work on it. My big brother was a 1/4 mi track racer. He mostly was a carburator guy.
