I press the gas the car makes a loud noise

My Question is when am drive that I press the gas the car makes a loud noise and it doesn't move like 2 days ago I was driving I was going about 35 miles per hr and the start making a loud noise and it was slowing down and I had my foot on the gas. What could it be?
