When you rev the engine up and let go of the throttle quickly, the engine dies or almost and gets back up to normal idle speed.

This happens even if the throttle is tapped slightly and quickly.
If you let go of the throttle easy it stays fine.

My instincts tell me to start with checking the intake for vacuum leaks and then checking for some basics like fuel pressure and correct timing
