Doug--Before you twist the distributor to get to the screws--Measure off of something, so you can put it back close, when you re-install (Moving the distributor body changes the timing (thats why you need to get it close to the original spot!) I recently changed one on a '88 F-150, and It was EZer to remove the distributor! IF YOU FIND THIS MUST HAPPEN WITH YOU-PLEASE COME BACK HERE FOR ASSISTANCE. 2 WAYS TO DO IT: THE EZ WAY (USING A ROTOR BUTTON FOR A REFERENCE) HARD WAY--FINDING TDC AND REINSTALLING. TO DO THE EZ WAY--DO NOT "SNATCH THE DIST. OUT" WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS--IF YOU DO SNATCH IT OUT, THE HARD WAY IS ALL WE CAN DO!--AS FAR AS INSTALLING YOUR OLD/ NEW MODULE, BE SURE YOU USE THE "HEAT DISSIPATING PASTE" ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE MODULE, IT IS AVAILABLE AT THE COUNTER OF POPULAR PARTS STORES IN "CONDIMENT" TYPE PACKAGES.---SENDING PIC OF MY JEEP DIST, MY MEASUREMENT IS TAKEN FROM THE VACUUM PORT TO THE BLOCK--FIND WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU, INSURE IT IS SOMETHING THAT WILL NOT MOVE, THAT YOU MEASURE FROM---THE MEDIC
