I am a student researching a project. Could you tell me how a mechanic uses math?

Alignment angles, calculating ride height and drive shaft angles, compression ratio, sensor voltages, etc. Electronics uses Ohm's Law which is ALL math. Tv repairmen and auto mechanics have it relatively easy. We need to understand how these things work but we only have to find a defective part and replace it with what someone else already designed. The engineers use math all the time to design cars and tvs to work properly, provide a comfortable ride in varying road conditions and not overheat the engine. Holler back if you would like very specific examples of using math in repairing or modifying a car.
