I have a 1988 automatic Acura Legend and I just bought the car and on my way home I noticed that the tranny was slipping a little. I went home and changed the fluid and it was a wierd dark orange and red but it didnt smell burnt. My D4 barely works and my 2 is out and my other gear works sometimes with it slipping at times. I have to baby it. It will race up in high rpms and I will let off the gas and it will slowly kick in. Is my tranny fried or is there a filter I can change and where is it? Also I was wondering if maybe there was a vacuum leak down by the trans. Modulator or somewhere else. Oh and also my power steering is leaking, everyday that I drive it, it is empty and I have to put new fluid in everyday I drive. I am going to college and I am panicing. I am just a girl and dont know what to do?Can anyone out there please help me?

The transmission fluid problem could be due to radiator coolant leaking into the transmission. This might need replacing the radiator, flushing the transmission fluid (and hoping the transmission is still not damaged).
