87 t-bird , third brake light comes on , regular brake taillights do not., all bulbs good --turnsignals work fine

my 88 t-bird had a similar problem, but all lights were out. checked all fuses, all bulbs,everything. i was told to see about the brake light switch. it was that, but there was also some wire that had detached and prevented it from working properly. the switch is toward the top the brake pedal at the floor board.and its kinda tricky to get out sometimes. GOOD LUCK
