My 1983 380SL Mercedes accelerates and then decelerates (surges) at freeway speeds. Hitting a bump or small rise seems to start the surging. I can stop the surging by controlling the accelerator pedal movement, but another bump will start the surging again.
Any advice?

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

That is a tough one then. Have you checked to make sure there are no vacuum leaks at the engine or intake manifold?
