1983 Lincoln Mark VI fuel filter

Was going to check or change filter but it is nothing like the filter I got from auto store. It says Ford pressurized fuel filter and the line looks nothing like the one in repair manual.

This is a problem for the place that sold you the filter. Your new filter could be for a different year, different model, different engine, or different application. There could have been engines with carburetors and engines with fuel injection that year.

There are in fact two different fuel filters listed for your car, but you listed the wrong engine size. That can confuse the person who looked up your filter. Your car only came with a 5.0L engine. When you look up the replacement filter, look for the one that matches what you are replacing. One is a spin-on filter similar to an oil filter, and one is an inline filter with hoses connecting to it.
